Diet plans are in no short supply, my friend. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.
I believe that when the choice has been made, and it’s time to start prepping weight loss meals, it’s important that you stay committed to your plan. Failure to stay on your chosen path can prove detrimental. You could very well end up in the position of starting all over again.
Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
It’s basic, but hugely important.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. And when I really think about it, there’s only one reason why…
On low-fat, you crave fat. On a low-calorie diet, you tend to crave calorie-rich foods. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? If the person on the screen tells you it’s healthy, you should probably eat it, yeah? And let’s not BS ourselves. Food-based videos are oftentimes undeniably seductive. 😉
Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. Calorie reduction and fresh, healthy foods and drinks are said to be the most surefire way to lose weight healthfully.
I’m no diet or fitness guru, but I see merit in that. Eat clean, don’t stuff your face all the time, and the fat should come right off. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
This is standard, conventional wisdom. As well it should be!
But even if your chosen diet isn’t a low-calorie model, you may still be well-served to stick with it long-term. Many diets put more of an emphasis on macro-nutrient ratios. Failure to adhere to your diet’s particular ratio may compromise your weight loss results.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
