There are obviously many diet plans in the world. Choosing one diet over another can be a daunting task.

I believe that when you’ve committed to a diet, and you’re looking to prepare your own tasty meals, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Straying from your original chosen plan may very well lead to failure. You just might wind up in the frustrating position of starting all over from scratch.

Building up a diet-focused recipe library on your computer is a great idea, for this very reason. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.

This is extremely important.

Boost Ketosis

I’ve been guilty of hopping from one diet to the next. Why did I do this? Only one reason…

On a low-sugar diet, you crave sweets. On low-calorie, you crave calories. I mean, it’s still officially “diet food,” even if it’s not your diet… right? They say it’s healthy, after all. So it should be okay, right? And let’s not kid ourselves. Culinary videos are usually 100% knee-weakening. 😉

Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. While each diet is completely unique in its approach, many say that healthy food and a slight caloric deficit are really all it take to help you reach your goals.

At the end of the day, it makes sense. Eat clean, don’t stuff your face all the time, and the fat should come right off. Add some exercise into the mix and look out!

This is clearly conventional wisdom. There’s probably good reason for this!

Calorie reduction isn’t the only game in town though. Diets are often effective because of their macro-nutrient ratios. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.

Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.

Ingredients
¼ cup Ground Flaxseed
1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
½ tsp Double-Acting Baking Powder
pinch of Salt
1 large Egg
2 tbs Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
2 tbs Unsweetened Applesauce
½ tsp English Toffee-Flavored Stevia Extract

Instructions
Spray a 4″ baking dish with cooking spray.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flax, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, applesauce, and stevia.
Dump the dry ingredients over the wet ingredients and whisk together. Pour mixture into the prepared dish and microwave for ~3 minutes on high, or until the surface springs back when tapped and edges pull away from the dish. Let cool slightly. Serve with homemade maple syrup, fresh fruit, chocolate chips, peanut butter, whatever toppings you want, then dig in!
