There are like a million and one diet plans available to you these days. Choosing one diet over another can be a daunting task.
As such, once the choice has been made, and it’s time to start menu planning, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. A lack of focus is often to blame for weight loss failure. It’ll probably have you returning to the very beginning.
You’d be well served, for this very reason, to build up an online library of recipes within your chosen plan. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.
I cannot overstate how important this is.
I only bring this up because I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself. Why did I do this? Only one reason…
You’re going to typically develop pretty powerful cravings for those foods that your current diet program won’t permit, which some entirely different lifestyle totally permits, and perhaps even encourages. The grass always seems greener on the other side. Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s make no mistake about it… Food-based videos are, in many cases, pretty damned hard to resist. 😉
Clearly, you need to stick to your chosen diet plan long enough to see results. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
Seems like pretty responsible advice. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.
You’ll probably recognize this as conventional weight loss advice. And it’s for good reason that it is!
Not all diets are calorically restrictive though. Macro-nutrient ratios are a key focus of many diet plans out there. These are often pretty meticulously calculated, and straying from the prescribed ratio may jeopardize your results.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
