These days, there is simply an overabundance of diet plans. You may be overwhelmed with your options. I know that I get overwhelmed with mine!
As such, as soon as you’ve committed to a diet, and you’re looking to prepare your own tasty meals, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. It can really hinder your success to stray from your chosen path. You may just find yourself starting all over.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.
I cannot overstate how important this is.
I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself, which is why I bring this up. Why did I do this? Only one reason…
You’re going to generally tend to crave whatever items your diet program won’t allow, which some other program totally allows, and perhaps even encourages. It’s always super tempting to dabble. If the person on the screen tells you it’s healthy, you should probably eat it, yeah? And let’s not lie to ourselves. Food videos are often 100% irresistible. 😉
If you expect to see lasting results, you need to stick to your chosen plan of action. While each diet is completely unique in its approach, many say that healthy food and a slight caloric deficit are really all it take to help you reach your goals.
Makes sense when you really think about it. Put the right amounts of the right fuel into your body, and reap the rewards of a healthy body and physique. Add some exercise into the mix and look out!
No doubt that this is conventional wisdom. And it’s for good reason that it is!
Not all diets are calorically restrictive though. Many diets put more of an emphasis on macro-nutrient ratios. And you may not want to play around with those.
Keep your eye on the prize! Don’t stray.
I wish you the best,
