Moving on…

Clearly, there are many diet plans in the world. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.

It’s for this reason that, when a particular diet has been chosen, and you’re looking to prepare your own tasty meals, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Straying from your original chosen plan may very well lead to failure. You’re quite likely to find yourself needing to start all over.

This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. If you’re going low-calorie, then compile low-calorie recipes. If you’re a low-carber, then you’ll want low-carb recipes.

The importance of this cannot be overstated.

I only bring this up because I’ve been guilty of hopping from one plan to the next myself. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…

You usually have cravings for whatever your current diet won’t let you consume, which some completely different eating program fully allows. Besides, those “video doctors” sure do make compelling arguments. And let’s not BS ourselves. Food videos are oftentimes completely difficult to resist. 😉

Sticking to the plan long-term is perhaps the most important component of dieting. Of course, it could be said that any diet that focuses on all-natural foods and reasonable portion sizes can be enough all on its own.

I’m no diet or fitness guru, but I see merit in that. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).

This is clearly standard, conventional wisdom. And it’s for good reason that it is!

Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And you may not want to play around with those.

Stick to the plan. Give yourself a fighting chance!

Wishing you health and happiness,

Marc Gil
