There are like a million and one diet plans available to you these days. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.

I believe that the moment you’ve decided on a particular diet, and and you’re watching these recipe videos to get meal ideas, you only want to seek out food and drink recipes that fit within that particular diet plan. It can really hinder your success to stray from your chosen path. It’ll probably have you returning to the very beginning.

You’d be well served, for this very reason, to build up an online library of recipes within your chosen plan. So you’d want to compile videos ONLY related to raw-food veganism, if that happens to be your chosen diet plan.

Make sense?

Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. The reason for this is actually quite simple…

On sugar-restriction, you crave sweets. On low-carb, you crave carbs. And let’s not BS ourselves. Meal prep videos can be quite hard to resist. 😉

If you expect to see lasting results, you need to stick to your chosen plan of action. Reaching your weight loss goals may be as simple as eating natural foods and limiting your caloric intake.

I’m no diet or fitness guru, but I see merit in that. Control the calorie intake, eat clean, and the fat should come right off. This becomes even more powerful as you raise your activity levels.

This is surely common weight loss advice. And it probably has that designation for a reason!

But even if your chosen diet isn’t a low-calorie model, you may still be well-served to stick with it long-term. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And you may not want to play around with those.

Stick to the plan. Give yourself a fighting chance!

1 pkg – Spaghetti
1 1/2 cups – fresh parsley leaves
3/4 cup – fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup – pitted green olives
1/3 cup – chopped red onion
2 tbsp – fresh lemon juice
2 – cloves garlic, minced
½ tsp – salt
½ tsp – pepper
3 tbsp – extra virgin olive oil, divided
1 lb – large shrimp, peeled and de-veined
1 – red pepper, very thinly sliced


1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions.
2. Reserve about 1 1/2 cups cooking water before draining.
3. Meanwhile, combine parsley, basil, olives, red onion, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper in a food processor.
4. Pulse until finely chopped; pulse in 2 tbsp oil until smooth.
5. Heat remaining oil in a large skillet set over medium-high heat. 6. Stir-fry shrimp and red pepper until shrimp are just opaque.
7. Add spaghetti and pesto mixture.
8. Toss in reserved cooking water, a little at a time, until pasta is moistened to taste.
9. Serve immediately.
