There are simply far too many potential diet plans out there. Choosing one diet over another can be a daunting task.
For this reason, when you’ve committed to a diet, and prepping healthy meals is the next step, you want to avoid looking outside of your chosen diet for meal options. Failure to stay on your chosen path can prove detrimental. You very well may wind up starting all over again.
This is why you definitely want to compile a small library of recipes that fit within your particular diet plan. So if you’re going low-carb, then build up a low-carb recipe library.
Pretty basic stuff, right? But it’s super important.
Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. And I’ve done so for one simply reason…
Food that one eating plan doesn’t allow, another, seemingly equally legit diet program 100 percent permits, and perhaps even encourages. The grass always seems greener on the other side. And counter-arguments can be pretty compelling. And let’s make no mistake about it… Meal prep videos are, in many cases, quite will-weakening. 😉
But the thing is, for any diet plan to work effectively, you really need to stick to it. Of course, it could be said that any diet that focuses on all-natural foods and reasonable portion sizes can be enough all on its own.
I can certainly see the merit in that, even though I’m no diet or fitness guru. The fat should come right off if you control what and how much you eat and drink. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
This, of course, is common weight loss advice. And it probably has that designation for a reason!
But even if your chosen diet isn’t a low-calorie model, you may still be well-served to stick with it long-term. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And it’s generally not advised to mess around with those, if you’re trying to maximize your weight loss.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
