There are like a million and one diet plans available to you these days. If you’re like me, you’re probably overwhelmed by all of the options.
That’s why I believe that, the moment you’ve committed to a diet, and it’s time to start menu planning, you need to adhere to your chosen diet plan. Failure to stay on your chosen path can prove detrimental. It’ll probably return you to the starting line.
You’d be well served, for this very reason, to build up an online library of recipes within your chosen plan. So if you’ve chosen the ketogenic diet as your weight loss method, for example, then you ONLY want those types of recipes in your library… and nothing else.
Pretty basic stuff, right? But it’s super important.
Hopping from one diet to the next is certainly something that I’ve done in the past. And there’s really only one reason why…
On low-carb, you crave carbs. On low-fat, you crave fat. It’s always super tempting to dabble. If the person on the screen tells you it’s healthy, you should probably eat it, yeah? And let’s not BS ourselves. Meal prep videos can oftentimes be undeniably difficult to resist. 😉
Choose a lifestyle that you’re thrilled to stick with. That’s how long-term results will be achieved. At the end of the day, eating healthy foods and not going into a crazy caloric surplus may be enough to help you reach your goals.
At the end of the day, it makes sense. Don’t pig out all day, steer clear of prepackaged junk, and you should see some pretty powerful results. Raising your activity levels will also prove beneficial (obviously).
This is clearly the most popular weight loss model in existence. There’s probably good reason for this!
Even still, if you’re trying to stick to a particular plan, you may want to stay the course. With some diets, macro-nutrient ratios are more important than calories consumed. And you may not want to play around with those.
Give your chosen diet plan enough time to work for you. Then, if it doesn’t, at least you won’t have yourself to blame!
